With three shops in operation, and nearly four dozen regular wholesale clients, Solar Roast Coffee has again focused its attention on coffee production. Already, plans are being drawn to construct a new generation of solar coffee roaster, the "Helios V."
Slated to begin in 2011, a new solar powered coffee roasting system will be built into the space above Solar Roast's downtown shop. The new solar heat source will retrofit onto the roof of the existing building, and will provide solar energy to a central receiver tower using multiple independently-tracked 'heliostat' mirrors.
